Frisco Weather

There's an old saying in Colorado:
If you don't like the weather, just wait 10 minutes for the next change. This is particularly true in the mountains, where high altitude and radical elevation changes affect weather patterns in often-bizarre ways.

In Frisco, the weather is just another natural element - like rocks, water, mountains and snow - to be dealt with and never taken for granted. Still, we ride our bikes to work in February, ski in June and, yes, keep our parkas ready on the Fourth of July. . . just in case.

You'll be most comfortable if you remember one word:
layer. Keep a variety of thermals, sweat pants and shirts, sweaters, T-shirts, coats and light and heavy socks and shoes at the ready, no matter what time of year you visit (40-degree temperature swings in summer are not uncommon).

Layer up as it gets colder, or strip down when the sun comes out. The same applies to altitude: You may be just in shorts and a T-shirt at the base of a climb, but it's going to be 10 to 15 degrees (or more with wind chill) at the summit.
